OMG, the Shakespeare Tavern was so much fun. They were doing The Complete Works (abridged) and turned the histories into a football game! But the best part was Hamlet, because they had us shout out the various parts of Ophelia inner monologue. One group waved their arms back and forth yelling, "maybe....maybe not!" another group, representing her material thoughts, yelled, "paint an inch thick!" A third group shouted, "Get thee to a nunnery!" for reasons that were never quite clear (unless they were representing Hamlet). And my group was her more modern, feminist side, described by the folks on stage as "wanting to be corporate executive and have babies at the same time. We yelled, "Cut the crap, Hamlet! My biological clock is ticking and I want babies NOW!"

It was hilarious.

Now I'm in line to see Nimoy and Shatner. Allegedly no one was allowed to get in line more than two hours before the event, but it turns out people started this
line at 4:30 am. Not fair, but whatever. I am hoping they enforce the line rule at some point this weekend, because it will probably take a couple years before people obey it. But apparently they're not bothering to try in the face of thousands of tired and determined fans. With phasers. :)

I love dragoncon.
